Heal from trauma, shame, and unhelpful patterns you can't seem to shift.
You might feel stuck in relationships that don't quite work, carry a sense of shame around sex, identity, or past experiences, or find that anxiety or low mood keeps returning despite your efforts.
Following an initial assessment to allow you space and time to discuss your needs, we will work together to explore symptoms, patterns of behaviour and underlying causes.
Sessions are non-judgemental, thoughtful and tailored to you.
About Nova

I am a warm and compassionate Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist based in on the Sussex coast in Brighton and Hove. I gained an MSc from the Birkbeck University in London in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2015. I am trained as an Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist - the NHS recommended treatment for symptoms of trauma.
I firmly believe the combination of talking therapy and somatic processing (treating our nervous systems) can help us to achieve the changes we want in our lives; my passion is helping clients integrate their difficulties and trauma to find peace and acceptance.
Alongside my private therapy practice, I have worked as a nurse and sexual health expert within the NHS for over 18 years. My practice is affirming and inclusive of all backgrounds; I have extensive experience working with clients of all ages, genders and lived experiences.

Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy looks beneath the surface of current difficulties to understand the patterns and experiences shaping them.
Difficulties such as anxiety, low self-worth, relationship struggles, or repeated life/behavioural patterns are often linked to earlier experiences that have not been fully processed or understood.
These experiences can live on internally, influencing expectations, defences and relational dynamics often outside of our conscious awareness.
In therapy, we will focus on what is happening in your life now and how you experience yourself and others, including within the therapeutic relationship.
This is not about blame, but about curiosity and compassion.
EMDR
I specialise in NHS-approved process of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
EMDR is a powerful form of psychotherapy highly effective for processing traumatic memories and alleviating symptoms associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) including flashbacks, panic-attacks and anxiety.
I will gently guide you through this process, helping you to resolve distressing experiences and move forward in life.
Structure and Pricing
Initial Assessment
When you first get in touch, we will arrange a free, twenty minute initial assessment, during which we can discuss any questions you might have and identify what area you would like us to focus on during your time in therapy.
We will plan what your sessions might look like - pace, frequency, goals - and identify what therapeutic approach would be best for you.
The initial assessment will take place via telephone call or online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Therapy Sessions
Once you’ve had time to consider the available options we will book your first therapy session, either in person at Hove Therapy Rooms or online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, at a time which suits you.
Psychotherapy
£70 per session
These are typically 50 minutes and can be weekly or spaced in a way that best supports your availability.
EMDR
£80 per session / £432 if you book six sessions in advance (10% discount)
EMDR as a therapy works best when condensed, and I advise clients to book sessions with no more than a week in between each appointment. A course of EMDR is completed over six sessions in total, with each session lasting 50 minutes.
